We’ve only one week to go until the start of the new rugby season on September 2. With this in mind, boys and girls minis and youth coaches gathered at the club on Saturday to prepare for the season ahead.
They heard from Child Welfare Officer Maritta Buwalda about the importance of making the game fun and safe for all. They also heard from club PRO Paul McSherry about the new website (coming soon) and app that will be used for team communications this season.
There was also discussions about club gear - which will be unveiled soon - and from Director of Rugby Denis Collins about the importance of coaches in the game of rugby.
It’s a big season ahead for the club. We will put a big focus on the girls game and hope to see many kids try rugby after experiencing it through the primary schools Shark-fest in May.
Our coaches are volunteers who give up their time to help kids discover a love of sport. They deserve great credit and our club is lucky to have them.
We can always use more help. You may never have played or watched rugby, but there’s still a role for you. Just speak to any club official or email email@example.com for more. We’ve a great club and great facilities, all are welcome.
SEE YOU NEXT SUPER-SHARKS SATURDAY!
