It was a mixed bag across our league games this weekend, with our firsts going down in tough encounter to St Mary’s - not lacking heart and effort however!
The weekend really belonged to our minis, however. Our Sunday Girls Mega Blitz was a total triumph with hundreds of girls from over twenty clubs descending on Snugmore to enjoy U10s & 12s girls rugby, cold crisp sunshine and great hospitality. ⭐️⭐️
It was a joy to watch so many families gather to enjoy our game, and the club wants to thank the many many coaches, parents and volunteers who gave their time to make the event run so well. Well done! 👏👏
Meanwhile our U6/7s and U10s enjoyed home blitzes on Saturday morning so the club was a hive of activity all weekend. Great to see the pitches so well used this time of year. 🥰🥰
On the more serious side of things, our league fixtures saw some successes but also some setback.
⭐️MEN’S FIRSTS 12 - St Mary’s 19
Our firsts had a hard result in their top of the table clash - one converted try was the difference in the end. Faelen Stewart and David Looney got the tries, but a frustrating scoreless second half meant our boys could never quite get the points they needed.
Cobh 26 - U18 BOYS 20 ⭐️
This one could have gone either way - a superb performance in the Pan Munster A but our boys came up just short. James Brugger scored two tries while Gavin Mc nailed two pens and two cons.
⭐️U16 BOYS 29 - Carrick-on-Suir 12
A good win for our impressive 16s, Daniel Coughlan and Patrick O’Regan scored 2 each, with Cooper Farrell getting a try. Josh Lehane with two conversions.
⭐️U13 BOYS 20 - Midleton 17
Our U13s kicked off the next phase of their league with an important win against a strong Midleton side. Tries from Donncha O’Sullivan, Rian Scannell, Ryan Harrington and an excellent effort by Rory Dolan saw them win the day.
