All go this weekend at the club and across our age grades. Our Men’s Seconds set the tone on Friday night, then our minis carried the energy on Saturday morning with a great home blitz.
Saturday afternoon saw the first annual AnneMarie Kingston Cup hosted by our U14s girls to help develop the girls game. They welcomed regional teams and put in 3 fabulous performances. Great to see.
Here’s the results over the weekend:
⭐️KINSALE FIRSTS 40 - Youghal 14
A great cup win in front of a good crowd on Saturday night. Two tries from Evan O’Riordan, and one each for Eric Lynch, Mark O’Connell, Dylan Mullen and Darren Mangan, with extras from Dylan Lacey, saw the Kinsale men storm home.
Muskery 12 - ⭐️MENS SECONDS 19
Hard fought win away to Muskery in the league for our impressive seconds team. Tries from Evan O’Riordan, David Graham, and a try and two conversions from Shane O’Connell saw them home.
⭐️U18 BOYS 12 - Old Christian’s 27
A tough defeat at home to our impressive 18s who came up against a fine Christians side.
Nenagh 10 - ⭐️U16 BOYS 38
A long trip to Tipp for our 16s in the league but a great win for our boys. Two Ben O’Callaghan tries and two tries for John Quinn, plus tries from Rian Walsh and Cooper Farrell. Josh Lehane added the extras.
Old Christian’s 5 - ⭐️U14 BOYS 35
A good day out for our 14s boys in a challenge game. Two tries from Will Brugger, with Shea Lynch, Fionn Fitzpatrick and Finn Harris adding tries too.
⭐️U13 BOYS 26 - Bandon 5
Our 13s move on in the league with another win. A stiff breeze meant the 3 first half tries from Kayn McCarthy, Bill Collins and James Kingston mattered. Conor Boyle added a fourth in the second half after an exhilarating Liam Tracey break, who also added the extras. A fine win.
Our minis travelled and hosted, and the activity at the club all weekend was wonderful to see.
The club wants to thank AGAIN the contributions of so many volunteers who make all these matches and events go so well - the parking, pitch marking, food, lifts, coaching, washing gear, sweeping up, baking, making teas and hot chocs… Great community spirit. Thank you!
