Our Men’s Firsts team rounded out a fantastic weekend for the club today as they beat a competitive Charleville RFC side 46-12 in their O’Neill Cup semi-final.

Played in Indian summer sun, the boys turned the heat up from the off racing to a 19-nil lead. But Charleville took advantage of a yellow card to peg us back to 19-12 at half time.

But Denis Collin’s side went up a level in the second half, absorbing and breaking to score 3 more unanswered tries. Even another yellow card couldn’t stop their momentum and the boys will be happy with their 46-12 final score.

Tim Lynch and Evan O’Riordan scored two tries each, with Eric Lynch and Erhan Farley getting one each. Dylan Lacey kicked well pinging 16 points from the tee.

This is great experience for this young side, with lots of players getting valuable game time early in the season. Old Christian’s wait in the final. Time and date to be confirmed!

Meanwhile our U16s and U18s both won their challenge games, and our Mini Sharks enjoyed a great Saturday morning training & fundraising for a local cause. It’s all go!
