We really couldn’t have asked for better weather for the 2025 Heineken Kinsale Sevens. The 37th edition of the event welcomed SIXTY teams, with well over 250 matches in front of thousands of supporters who poured into our grounds over the weekend.

The rugby was thrilling, with high quality matches taking places across four pitches as the sun shone down. A particular highlight was the first ever Mixed Ability game which drew a huge crowd. The West Cork Jesters and the Sunday’s Well Rebels.

Of course an event like this doesn’t happen without huge coordination and cooperation. As always, massive thanks to our Sevens Committee led by Lorraine Sullivan, our hundreds of volunteers, our professional services such as the Gardai, the first aiders, referees and vendors. And of course, thanks to our neighbours too!

This tournament saw a welcome increase in ladies teams participating, and this looks set to grow as the game becomes more popular.

So who were the big winners? Here’s the final results in the main competitions:

⭐️ LADIES SOCIAL PLATE ⭐️
Quack Addicts 40 - Jo’s Hoes 0

🏆 LADIES SOCIAL CUP 🏆
Blackrock RFC 15 - MU Barnhall 10

⭐️ MEN’S SOCIAL PLATE ⭐️
Bandon 19 - Zero Zero Sevens 12

⭐️ MEN’S ELITE PLATE ⭐️
Karma Sutra RFC 41 - Godfathers 28

🏆🏆 MEN’S ELITE CUP 🏆🏆
OG Sevens 25 - Butchers 22

Well done to OG Sevens from Bradford, UK, on winning the elite tournament in only their second attempt. It was a thrilling final with the score bouncing back and forth.

Finally, huge thank you to all our sponsors, particularly Heineken, whose support has been essential to the success of our tournament.

See you for the 2026 Heineken Kinsale Sevens!
