It was a landmark year for Kinsale Rugby club as participation continues to rise - especially in our girls and ladies teams. A welcome trend that will continue to grow.

On the pitch the Men’s Firsts team narrowly missed promotion to the top division of Munster Junior 1, and our Men’s Seconds continue to play well and grow in numbers. Half way through the 2025/2026 season and both teams are in a great position with great depth in the squads.

Our youth teams had a remarkable year. Our U18.5, U16 and U14 boys all won the South Munster League back in May. A feat rarely if ever achieved in the division. Our girls U16 team continue to grow and are playing well in the league. And the AnneMarie Kingston Cup, hosted for U14 and U16 girls teams at the club, tripled in size in its second year. Great progress!

Our youth teams saw much representation at under Munster level, with Rory Forde starring for the province at U18, and others proudly pulling on the red jersey.

Our minis teams are full of activity and potential. The future feels bright for our underage teams!

Elsewhere, the club celebrated a wonderful Kinsale Sevens, with the large numbers of teams participating, including a marked increase in ladies teams.

The club also celebrated 40 years since the pitches opened at Snugmore. James Brugger presented his Ireland U18 jersey earned while playing for the club at the event.

Club stalwart Phillip Stokes was recognised at the IRFUs 150 celebrations for his tireless work over the 43 years of Kinsale Rugby’s existence.

A great year with more to come in 2026. New members always welcome. Come up to support or play!
